Preparing refugee sponsorship applicants for an interview<\/h2>\n

The interview is an important part of the refugee sponsorship application process. Applicants are invited to an interview at a Visa Office abroad via email or by phone. The purpose of the interview is to establish whether the applicant is eligible and admissible for resettlement to Canada under the Private Sponsorship of Refugees (PSR) Program and whether resettlement to Canada is the best solution to the applicant\u2019s situation.<\/p>\n

Since the decision of the Visa Officer depends significantly on the outcome of the interview, this document will offer some recommendations on how to prepare for an interview and what to do during and after the interview.1 Please note that this document does not represent legal advice; however, it may serve as a guideline to help you better prepare for your interview.<\/p>\n\n\n
