The program can be accessed by all residents of Nova Scotia who have medical coverage through <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.ns.ca\/health\/msi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nova Scotia Health Card (MSI)<\/a>. Under Pharmacare, sponsored refugees could qualify for the following assistance programs:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/novascotia.ca\/dhw\/pharmacare\/cancer-assistance.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Drug Assistance for Cancer Patients<\/a> &#8211; <\/strong>Drug Assistance for Cancer Patients &#8211; pay for certain cancer related drugs for eligible residents of Nova Scotia with a gross family income of $15,720 or less. Benefits include chemotherapeutic agents, pain medications, antiemetic agents and laxatives for use with chronic opioid therapy.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/novascotia.ca\/dhw\/pharmacare\/family-pharmacare.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Family Pharmacare<\/a><\/strong>: is a provincial drug plan designed to help Nova Scotians with the cost of prescription drugs. The program is available to all Nova Scotians with a valid health card and there is no premium or fee to join the program.
